Frequently asked questions

Are you professionally regulated and insured?

Yes. I am regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and hold professional indemnity insurance through the Royal College of Midwives (RCM). I am also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), certified by the IBLCE, and practise within my professional scope.

What is an IBCLC?

An IBCLC is an internationally recognised healthcare professional specialising in infant feeding and lactation.

How long does a consultation last?

Initial consultations last around 90 minutes. Follow-ups 60-90 minutes.

Do you only support breastfeeding?

No. I support breastfeeding, formula feeding and combination feeding.

Do you offer follow-up support?

Yes. A brief 10-minute follow-up call is included.

Do you support twins?

Yes. Including more complex needs alongside NHS care.

Do you support induced lactation or relactation?

Yes, with realistic, evidence-based planning.

Can you assess tongue-tie?

I can assess feeding and oral function to identify when a tongue-tie may be present and whether it is affecting feeding. If a frenulotomy is likely to be helpful, I will refer you to an appropriate specialist for diagnosis and treatment, and continue to support you before and after the procedure.
